Chronic Pain Self-Management helps people build self-confidence to assume an active role in managing their chronic pain by exploring…
• The root cause of pain
• Distraction and relaxation techniques
• Techniques for dealing with difficult emotions, stress, fatigue, isolation, and poor sleep
• Appropriate exercise
• Strategies on healthy eating, weight management, and nutrition
• Pacing activity and rest

Local volunteer leaders lead groups that meet weekly for several weeks in different communities. Caregivers and loved ones of elders and persons with disabilities are also welcome to attend.

The next free workshop series starts in February! Join us on Thursdays, February 14 to March 21, 2019, from 1 to 3:30 p.m., at North Quabbin Recovery Center. Participants are provided with refreshments as well as a workbook to help guide them through the curriculum. We encourage individuals to bring a caregiver, friend, or family member if they feel that they need extra support.
