IT for Nonprofits: Managing Technology and Cyber Security
Two training topics in one workshop!
Managing Technology (9:00am-12:00pm)
Technology is changing so quickly and the rate of change is only getting faster. As we approach the 4th industrial revolution and the many changes that will bring, how is a small or even large organization expected to keep up? What are the best practices for managing, selecting, maintaining, but most importantly utilizing technology? During this presentation we will look at some of the technological changes ahead through the lens of a Western Mass non-profit, discussing and sharing what these changes mean, how to manage them, and how ultimately these changes can improve your organization.
Cyber Security (12:45pm-2:30pm)
A recent study concluded that a cyber-attacks and data breaches represent the most significant external risk to small businesses and organizations. However, at the same time, many organizations don’t even know where to begin when it comes to protecting themselves. During this two part presentation we will look at cyber from both the practical lens of what your business can do to increase its awareness and its defenses and learn about the legal ramifications of both protection and responding to a breach.
