This year we are partnering with all the United Way organizations in Massachusetts on this important day of community service.  It is not too early to begin to think about projects that need to get done, communities an individual or group might want to serve, …think outside the box…do you want to do an outdoor project (landscaping, cleaning, etc.) and inside project (painting, administration, etc.) or something that allows volunteers to work directly with people (assisting seniors, people with developmental disabilities, working with homeless families, etc.).

The City of Springfield will also be holding the fourth annual Project Homeless Connect on September 15, 2010.  UWPV will be partnering with the Project Homeless Connect planning team to link volunteers.  We will send out additional information as the team finalizes its planning…we do know this event will take place at the Mass Mutual Center.
