8:25 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Program
Topic: The primary is over and the 2010 candidates have been decided. The human service sector along with other community organizations has a keen interest in the outcome of the November election. The public structures that make our state a great place to live can only be maintained and repaired with our shared support and with massive cuts it is imperative that we stay informed. With ballot questions like – repeal of the state's alcohol sales tax, repeal of the state's affordable housing law known as 40B and potentially reducing the state's sales tax from 6.25 percent to 3 percent – there is much in the coming year that will affect the people we serve. As taxpayers, employers, and community members we have a responsibility to stay informed and to vote.
Tony Cignoli will address state primary results and the potential implications of the upcoming elections. Tony will share his views through the lens of the non-profit health and human service sector. How might the results and the change in the political landscape impact our work? Join us and network with your peers, catch up on the latest news, and leave more civically engaged and ready to vote on November 2nd.
Keynote Speaker: Anthony Cignoli, Political Consultant
