Behavioral Health Network, Inc. is the largest behavioral health service provider in Western Massachusetts providing services to children, adults and families since 1938. A series of mergers throughout the 20th Century culminated in 1992 when four individual organizations came together under the name Behavioral Health Network, Inc. These organizations were the Child Guidance Clinic (Est. 1938), Agawam Counseling Center (Est. 1971), Community Care Mental Health Center (Est. 1968), and Hampden District Mental Health Clinic (Est. 1953). In 2015, BHN merged with The Carson Center in Westfield, extending its reach in service and geography. In 2016, BHN expanded service to Franklin County. Today, BHN provides employment to over 1,800 community members, offering over 70 programs in 80 locations. BHN believes in the Recovery Model where we work to support the potential of each person to recover or improve in their quality of life. We strive to support the inherent strength and dignity of each person. We encourage our clients to be guided by their own process. We understand that recovery includes a sense of hope, developing supportive relationships, a sense of empowerment and inclusion, and developing coping strategies to aid in their personal development.
