| Fund a Cause What is the most effective method to bring about social change? For many charities, the answer is advocacy — educating the public about the organization's mission, raising awareness of issues affecting constituents, and/or developing policy options. If information is the key to getting people involved, why do so few organizations advocate their causes? Sometimes, the answer is simply a lack of funds. Now, a new report from Atlantic Philanthropists encourages foundations to help bring about social change by funding advocacy. For foundations, this report provides lessons learned from advocacy-oriented grantmaking.
